Zimbabwe Trip

NEEDS Africa embarked on its first international trip to Zimbabwe from 19th October to 3rd November. The goal of this mission was to train, encourage and inspire leaders - both present and future. This was to be done through Church leaders seminars and school visits. All the meetings were arranged and done in partnership with local organisations.

This trip was divided into two parts; Pastors and Church Leaders Training and Schools visits.

Three seminars had been arranged and we hosted 50 candidates in each. Through local supporters, Greg and Ana Scott, we were able to provide 150 Transformational Leadership workbooks for use in the seminars.

The first seminar took place in a high-density suburb of Harare called Glen Norah. In excess of 50 leaders attended,

The second seminar was held in Zimbabwe’s third largest city, Gweru, situated in the Midlands province, and the third Pastors and Leaders seminar was held in a small mining town called Shurugwe.

Schools Visits

We teamed up with Ian Mathole who runs All About Love Trust Zimbabwe, a childrens' charity that takes care of children who have lost their parents to AIDS. This care encompasses everything from school fees and uniforms to their accommodation and medication. In addition to that Ian is very busy working in primary and high schools with mentoring, leadership training and running assemblies that equip young people for the future.

Whilst with Ian we also visited two clinics meeting with nurses, village health workers and support groups for children living with HIV/AIDS.
